A collection of 4 improvised ambient soft-drone jams in the cellar vault of Kunstverein Röderhof / the former brewery of the Huysburg Monastery
/ a site specific in S. Hohmann’s Obstbau for “Künstler-Museum”
I was researching change and spirituality (versus continuity). The cellar vault like any other big space, contains more spirituality, even if only symbolically, the objects interact and become as one. I was exploring the total absorption in the love of God, in this process of conversing with God, I also started to edit my political love poems. I was partaking in the regular masses in the nearby monastery Huysburg. I wanted to explore with dronal sound-scapes, the depths of a single instrument tone, pulsating elongated sustained tones in a physical space akin to the churches can transform the state of unsettledness of a racialized female body into a real and safe home. I believe that a free and fearless body in space is a statement.
